Revolutionary recycled linen and hemp, with quality comparable to virgin fibres.
Tung Ga is the only mill in Greater China with Recycled Linen capability, which can provide both GRS and RCS certificates.
THE MACHINERY
Recycled linen is made possible by this multi-process machine – there are only 3 of these worldwide, one of them is in our mill.
We have specifically adapted it for recycling linen. (Patent Pending)
THE SCRAPS
For every 100 yards of fabric, there is enough waste for 5 yards of recycled fabric.
We collect wastage from all pre-consumer processes - the only way to collect enough scraps for production.
Processes
STEP ONE Pre-consumer linen scraps are fed into the machine
STEP TWO Scraps are loosened and processed back into fibres via physical recycling
STEP THREE First stage of recycled fibres are created
STEP FOUR The recycled fibres undergo several rounds of further combing and processing, to make the quality comparable to virgin linen fibres
STEP FIVE After the recycled fibres have been processed, the next steps are same as virgin linen
Organic Fertilisers Any final grinds that can no longer be processed, are fermented into organic fertilizers using our patented technology, going back to our mill's farm that provides for the workers' meals.
